Police seek suspect in alleged robbery, rape
Police are working to piece together details of an alleged rape and robbery that began as an Atlanta crime and ended at a Rockmart fast-food restaurant.
Det. David Gowens of the Rockmart Police Department said they got a call Friday morning about a 21-year-old female reportedly left at the Rockmart McDonald’s around 1 a.m.
The woman told police she had been kidnapped from a convenience store at Fulton Industrial Boulevard, Gowens said.
“Apparently a robbery took place, and a sexual assault. It appears she was driven to Polk County and put out at the McDonald’s,” he said.
The woman has been treated and released from a hospital, he said.
He said Rockmart and Fulton County police are working together on the case.

Wow. That was my first ever scanner report too.
I know the report says she was treated and released, I just hope she wasn't hurt too badly. Physically that is. As a survivor myself, the emotional healing takes a long time.

Dang, said she was taken on Fulton Industrial, sad that it happened, but have ya`ll been on That road, ain`t nothing on it but road whores, its worse than Stewart Ave was, truckers cringe when having to go thru this area.

that is a really ruff area, I have a cousin shot there a few years ago, He stopped at the store.before going to work. He did recover.
I hate to have to go in that area. Keep the doors locked and the gun close...lol

You got that right nanny, she could have been one of us. have to go there and just stopped at the store for a drink..Its really not
fair to judge one because of what the rest might or might not be doing.

From what I understand, she and her family had just moved to the area a couple of months ago and she was walking to the store to get her baby some diapers and then this TERRIBLE thing happened to her ! That's just what I was told but regardless, no one deserves to be hit in the head and raped! Very, Very sad!

Miss Nanny, I agree with you whole heartedly, if it was my daughter or granddaughter i would be ready to skin some joker alive, I was just stating what type area it happened in, rough, very rough.

I understand Justatruckin, and you're right, it is a rough area.
I guess I just wanted to get it said. It's a touchy subject for me. An extremely touchy subject. I am survivor of rape...twice. The first time I was accused of "asking for it". I was 17, a virgin and innocent as frak....enough said.
