KKK plans rally in Nahunta
NAHUNTA, Ga.
A Ku Klux Klan rally is planned for this small southeast Georgia city, and the mayor is urging people to go about their business.
The Knight Riders of the Ku Klux Klan has a permit for a rally in Nahunta, about 35 miles east of Brunswick in Brantley County, from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
City officials say the Klan group says it will focus its rally on illegal immigration and sex offenders.
City clerk Angela Wirth told The Associated Press the Klan organization's grand dragon says he's expecting a turnout of about 100. She says she's expecting the Klan to make its presentation and leave.
Wirth says that until now there has never been a Klan rally in the city.

Ku Klux Klan denied permit to rally at Nahunta City Hall
But the group still plans to gather on Saturday, Feb. 20, in Nahunta.
Nahunta has denied a Ku Klux Klan group's request to use the City Hall parking lot for a rally to raise public awareness on sex offenders, illegal immigration and prayer in school.
Grand Dragon Gregg Wolf of the Knight Riders, Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, went before the City Council on Monday seeking a permit to hold the rally from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the parking lot.
City Attorney James Kelly Brooks said he informed Wolf on Friday that Nahunta was denying the group's request.
"You're talking about a place that has not been a public forum," Brooks said of the small parking lot facing U.S. 301.
Brooks also told The Times-Union the city had no alternative meeting place to offer.
"The city doesn't have a piece of property, a park or tract, that has been deemed a place for this type of activity," Brooks said.
Wolf said he would consult with the Knight Riders' lawyer, but regardless of what Nahunta or the Brantley County Commission decides, KKK members will be in Nahunta Feb. 20.
The County Commission had already turned down the request, because roof construction and other renovations at the courthouse would make the grounds unusable, Chairman Ronald Ham said.
"We offered [Wolf] three alternate locations, all county recreational facilities, but he said, 'No,' they wanted the [courthouse] backdrop," Ham said.
The group must apply for a county permit if it wants to use a different location, or if it changes the date it wants to use the courthouse. The county will need "at least a couple of weeks" advance notice, Ham said, so it can arrange to have proper security in place.

These folk can get on some nerves.... I remember being at a softball game, my daughter was still a baby, they surronded us, hollering, saying ugly things to
one of the players on the field...Police came and ask ME TO MOVE. I told them NO, We was there first and these people had no busness harassing me and my child.
Police final made the KKK go back across the road, where they had started their rally at..Call me stupid, but I had the play pin set up, baby was sleeping, till
they came over to holler...It just pissed me right off. I feel like, each to their own, but have some respect for the baby's...

They Got A Permit To Use The Parking Lot In Front Of The Court House...We All Loaded Up With Our Cameras And Headed Out...
It Was Something To See No Doubt...
They Was Really Lucky That Day...
It Took All Of Paulding And Some Of Cobb County P.D To Get Them Out Alive....

Rusty, I think that they used to have a skin head camp around Yorkville in that area. had some pretty ugly signs out on the county road.

Justatruckin, I know where you are talking about. It was on Old Brock Rd in Yorkville. It was a bunch of out of control teenagers on their Grandparents property. We own land close to that site.They used to hang signs up on the side of the road.
